Academic Shoot Preview Assignment part 2.
My favorite photo was the "Melancholy" picture.
It shows balance, fill the frame, leading lines, symmetry, action and the background is blurred out making it easier to focus on the subject.
1. Where do you think you could take photos like the ones you look at today?
there is many paces were you could take amazing photos, the clubs, the gym, during lunch, during a cool lab in science class...2. Whose classroom would you like to visit and take photos in?
I would like to take picture during a science lab.3. What will you do, as the photographer, to get amazing photos like you look at today?
use the rules of photography and capture actions.
Academic Shoot Preview assignment

Photo Manipulation and Ethics
A. Post the manipulation (this means get that image and post it on your blog) that you think was the most unethical,
and explain why you think it was unethical. If you do not know what the word ethic or unethical means, look them
up on the internet. It is very important you know what those two words mean.
I think that this is the most unethical photo. The person that did this completely changed the theme of the photo making it look completely different. This is a way of making people talk about something but war is really serious.
B. Post the manipulation that you consider the least unethical, and explain why you think it is not as bad as others.
Photo Manipulation and Ethics
On your blog
A. Summarize the main points of the story in 2-4 sentences.
you can not use photoshop to manipulate photos and their meaning. Many times before photoshop has been used as a way of hiding different acts.
B. Explain why you think this type of photo editing is unethical or acceptable.
This is unethical because you are hiding the truth from the people, specially if it is a newspaper and people are trusting you.

post shoot reflection
1. What challenges did you encounter while trying to get the photos of your first 4 prompts (Square, Metal, Happy, Bowie)it was hard to make some of this topics interesting, for example: metal. It is not easy to find a good subject about metal.
2. What technical aspects of photography or the assignment in general (focus, framing, holding the camera, etc.) did you find yourself thinking about the most? Provide a specific example of what you did to do this correctly.I was thinking about the light the most
3. If you could do the assignment again, what would you do differently now that you know some basic rules of photography?in the metal photo I would change the framing to focus on the subjectin happy picture i would use rule of thirds so we could see the whole arm of the girlin the square photo i would put something inside the square and use it as a frame.
4. What things would you do the same? in the bowie picture I used rule of thirds and it looks decent.
5. Finally - go back and edit your blogs with the 4 photos (square, metal, happy, Bowie), tell me what rules of composition (which you just learned about) did you end up actually achieving? Did you have any?square: simplicitymetal: linesbowie: rule of thirds and lineshappy: lines
6. Are you interested in shooting those same prompts again, why?yes, to see the difference between this pictures and the new ones
http://kaitlynsphotojournalisblog.blogspot.com/2014/09/photo-shoot-prompt-favorites.htmlI really like the composition of the square photo and how the happy photo is focus.
one thing that could be improved is using more rules of photography

rules of photography
lines
in this photo the lines of the skyscraper are in the same direction as the man falling this makes the picture more interesting. also this is a good rule of thirds example because the man is at the beginning of the photo and we can see where he is falling.
rule of thirds
this is a good rule of thirds example because the two firemen are located in the bottom right part of the picture, we can see what is happening at the end of the streets but we still know what is the subject
balance
this is a good balance example because even though the background is not clear and simple there are two couples that are symmetrically balanced.
simplicity
this is a good example of simplicity because there is nothing at the background that distract us of the subject, the buildings.
framing
this is a good framing example because the broken wall is helping us focus on the picture
it also makes it interesting.
avoiding Mergers
this is a good avoiding mergers example because there is nothing in the background distracting us from the subject. we can clearly see the ruins.

National geographic
the creativity of the background. The lighting and the moment when the photo was taken. the balance throughout the picture making your eyes move around so you don just focus o one thing.
